Our Commitment to Transparency

RecycleDisciple was built on a simple idea: sustainability gets better when information is clear and honest.

That commitment applies to how we run this site, not just what we write about. This page explains how RecycleDisciple operates, how we make money, and what influences (or does not influence) our recommendations.

How RecycleDisciple Makes Money

RecycleDisciple currently generates revenue through:

  • Product sales: We sell a small, curated selection of products through our shop. Every product is chosen because we believe it supports more sustainable choices, not because it generates the highest margin.
  • Affiliate links: Some articles and guides may include affiliate links. If you purchase through one of these links, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. We will always disclose when a link is an affiliate link.
  • Digital guides: We offer free and paid educational resources. Our free guide is genuinely free with no hidden upsell required.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not accept payment in exchange for positive reviews or product features
  • We do not promote products we have not personally evaluated
  • We do not use misleading environmental claims (the same greenwashing we write about)
  • We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes

How We Choose Products

Every product in our shop is evaluated based on:

  • Durability: Will it last significantly longer than typical alternatives?
  • Material quality: Are materials responsibly sourced and clearly documented?
  • Necessity: Does this replace something disposable or short-lived?
  • Honesty: Does the brand make claims it can actually back up?

We would rather have a small shop with products we trust than a large catalog full of questionable claims.

Editorial Independence

Our articles, guides, and recommendations are written independently. No brand, sponsor, or affiliate partner has editorial input or approval over our content.

If we ever partner with a brand or organization, that relationship will be clearly disclosed within the relevant content.
