About Recycle Disciple

Recycle Disciple exists to help people make more thoughtful, sustainable choices in everyday life—without guilt, hype, or unrealistic expectations.

It’s not a brand built around trends or perfection.
It’s a place for clarity, honesty, and long-term thinking.

Why Recycle Disciple Was Created

As I became more interested in making sustainable choices in my own life, I expected it would be relatively easy to find good options.

It wasn’t.

The more I looked, the more confusing things felt. Products were labeled “eco-friendly” without explanation. Advice often conflicted. And many recommendations seemed to assume people had lots of free time, money, and patience.

As I did more research, I started learning things that weren’t talked about very openly:

I learned what happens to huge amounts of overproduced fast fashion when it doesn’t sell. I learned that donating clothing—while well-intentioned—often only delays landfill, and in many cases shifts the burden to other countries already overwhelmed by textile waste.

I learned that buying more “sustainable” products isn’t always the answer, and that buying less often matters more.

What surprised me most was how normal many of these harmful outcomes are—and how rarely they’re explained clearly.

Recycle Disciple grew out of that realization.

A Long-Standing Care for the Environment

Caring about the environment isn’t new for me.

When I was younger, I was an Eagle Scout. One of the core ideas we were taught was simple: leave a place cleaner than when you found it.

That principle stuck with me.

Recycle Disciple is, in many ways, is an extension of that mindset—applied to how we buy, use, and dispose of the things in our lives.

Not perfectly. Not dramatically. But thoughtfully.

About the Founder

Recycle Disciple was founded by David Spencer, a sustainability-minded professional who wanted a more honest, practical approach to living sustainably—one that reflects how people actually live and make decisions.

Recycle Disciple is intentionally small, transparent, and human.
